I’m getting breathless for asthma!

I’m challenging myself to 10 days straight of fitness activity because I am a chronic asthmatic and knows what it feels like to not be able to breath even when doing an everyday task, I’ve also had to experience seeing my children unable to breath due to asthma. 

  • Asthma is responsible for at least 1 Australian death every day and around 100 hospitalisations every day. Over 80% of these hospitalisations are considered potentially avoidable. 
  • 1 in 9 Australians are directly impacted by asthma, with children being the most impacted.

A telephone information support service that receives around 20 calls a day from people with asthma and their carers.

Being a chronic asthmatic myself from a very young age who has had multiple hospital admissions including many ICU stays, knows first hand the severity of asthma, with also having a daughter who suffers from asthma and seeing her in hospital has given me an even bigger drive to do Huff & Puff, I am challenging myself to walk 2.5km per day and to raise $500 between 1st -10th Sept, hopefully more if possible! This is a great challenge for me as being an asthmatic we avoid fitness due to the fear of having an asthma attack so I am stepping out of my comfort zone to raise awareness for people who can’t !
